Eight Years In Power
by Peter Swanson

I was disappointed in this book because of all the great reviews I'd read. The mystery aspect was complex, and I did not guess the culprit until the very end of the book. However, I could not connect with the protagonist at all, even when it became clear that he was an unreliable narrator. Also, the book gave away the endings to eight classic mystery novels, only one of which I had read. All in all, it was just OK.

Terminal (audio)
by Kathy Reichs

This is the best ending I could have thought out for a book. I ADORE this series, a lot. Kathy and Brandon spin a tale about being hunted by men in black for the finale of their series. I really adored these books and the way they rewrite the definition of a werewolf and how they can represent. This series is for anyone that loves mystery and fantasy and even a bit of romance! I wish the library did have ALL the books though- they're missing a few but each novel can be a stand alone as is.

The Hideway By Laura Denton
by Lauren Denton

Wonderful story of going home full circle and discovering stories that you never knew about loved ones. I loved the characters and their little Alabama town.

Warriors Power Of Three
by Erin Hunter

It was a very good book with a few good twist to the story and I could really feel the emotions of the cat's when they were angry, sad, happy, etc..

Big Summer
by Jennifer Weiner

I enjoyed this book less than I thought I would. I am a big fan (no pun intended) of Jennifer Weiner, and I have read all of her books. This one follows plus size influencer Daphne Berg into a world of opulence and over-the-top glamour of her former best friend. As maid of honor at said friend's wedding, Daphne attends posh parties and meets a handsome stranger. The book takes a turn when someone is murdered--the book got more interesting at that point. Daphne has no idea who she can trust, especially when she becomes a suspect. If you want to read something better by Weiner, start with her first book, "Good in Bed" or last year's best seller "Mrs. Everything."

Cinderella
by Grimms Complete Fairy Tales

I listened to Allen read this book. I had not heard this version and I enjoyed it a lot. Allen has a nice reading voice. I can understand now that the original stories were written to scare children into good behavior. I would have been afraid too had these been told to me when I was little. I really liked the magic aspects of this version.

An instant guide to horses
by David Burn and Cecilia Fitzsimons

This book was well written and informational. it has a lot of different kinds of horses and what they're used for. It is also very intriguing to read. While I dont think many people that dont love horses would enjoy it, I reccomend it to horse lovers. It was a very fast read.

Pathfinder
by Orson Scott Card

Too insanely confusing to accurately describe, but a very good book, if you do not mind your head hurting through all six hundred, sixty-two pages of it. (This includes the extremely clarifying "Acknowledgements" section, in which thew author explains some of the mildly confusing timeline.)

Salt Air Secrets
by Joanne Demaio

I love the easy connection to the characters in the small Connecticut salt air beach town. This book had three major character crisis and there was no clear resolution in any of them. Yes you got to enjoy new facets of their life but you end with the same problems your started with and then some, no resolutions, just the promise of them in the next novel. I was disappointed that it seemed like it was the middle of a story and there was no end, no real cliff hanger, just continuation of the same issues.

The Juniper Tree
by Grimms Fairy Tales

My mom is in the adult program and let me listen to this while she did. Allen did a good job reading it. The story was super creepy and gross. Mom said fairy tales were written to scare kids to be good but I can't figure out what would be the lesson in this story for kids except the mom was evil and that she was finally punished for being evil and wrong.
